1000X Trace Metals Mix - 100 ml

50mM FeCl3, 20mM CaCl2, 10mM MnCl2, 10mM ZnSO4, 2mM CoCl2, 2mM CuCl2, and 2mM NiCl2

Directions:

1)
Add 0.5 ml of 10 N HCl to 49.5 ml of ddH2O to make 0.1 M HCl
2)
Dissolve 1.35 g of FeCl3•6H2O in the 50 ml of 0.1 M HCl  (F.W. of FeCl3•6H2O = 270.30)
3)
Add 36 ml of ddH2O.
4)
Dissolve 294 mg of CaCl2  (F.W. = 147.02)                or  Add 2 ml of 1 M CaCl2
5)
Dissolve 198 mg of MnCl2•4H2O  (F.W. = 197.91)    or  Add 1 ml of 1 M MnCl2
6)
Dissolve 288 mg of ZnSO4•7H2O  (F.W. = 287.56)   or  Add 1 ml of 1 M ZnSO4
7)
Dissolve 48 mg of CoCl2•6H2O  (F.W. = 237.95)      or  Add 1 ml of 0.2 M CoCl2
8)
Dissolve 34 mg of CuCl2•6H2O  (F.W. = 170.48)      or  Add 2 ml of 0.1 M CuCl2
9)
Dissolve 48 mg of NiCl2•6H2O  (F.W. = 237.72)       or  Add 1 ml of 1 M NiCl2
10)
Add ddH2O up to 100 ml (∼14 ml if all dry reagents were used)
11)
Sterizlize the solution by passing it through a 0.22 µm filter
12)
Store at room temperature
